Engagement Letter for 2009 Individual Tax Returns

Many tax professionals use what’s called an Engagement Letter to outline services to be provided and to clarify the responsibilities of the parties involved.  It is a good way to educate taxpayers about their responsibilities while also protecting the tax professional from certain liabilities.  Thus, I ask all clients for whom Individual Income Tax Returns are prepared to sign one of these documents.

If you have an appointment or are planning to see me soon to prepare your 2009 tax returns, you should print, review and sign a copy of this document then bring it to me with your other tax documents.  By doing this in advance we can save a few minutes of my time.  I do, after all, charge by the hour.

If you have any questions about the content of this document, please contact me.

Thank you,

Christopher
